Los Bastardos del Bronco - or just plain Bronco for the initiates - is not your average band. Founded in 2003, a rare mixture of musicians found themselves at a crossroads, and decided that instead of picking a music style, they would come up with their own. 2 metal-musicians, a swing-band drummer and an avid instrumental-music fanatic jumped in eyes closed, and they liked what they found. Although pure surf in the early days - playing surf-anthems from Dick Dale and the Shadows - there was always a sluring under-yer-skin threat lurking from underneath. As their repertoire grew, so did their un-compromising style. A local reporter - after seeing them live - called it high-octane 'Tsunami-Rock', and the band took over this spot-on description.
A must-see live experience with quite a few surprises you'd not expect from an instrumental rock-Band.

 

Although no longer member of the band, featured here on this picture is Mike Evil D. He decided to take on other challenges in the summer of '09. He will be remembered in our prayers... once a bastard, always a bastard!

 

 

 

Bronco Jay is the brain behind Bronco... he decided to raise hell all by himself, and called upon Mike Evil D. for assistance. The rest, as they say, is history.
His premier guitar is a heavily modified Gretsch Nashville, which he aptly named 'The Punisher'. His favorite Back-up is his '99 Gretsch Silverjet, which he describes as "a Goddamn Motherfuckin' Rock 'n' Roll Guitar like none before was made" Merciless, hard but always with a sense of humour and a Cuba Libre waiting... a speeding cocktail of riffs, sweeping melodies and rhythms follow each-other in breakneck tempo. Heavy strings and a right-wrist fast enough to cope with the high-speed tunes that pass the revue on their live-gigs.

The new guy - as he will always be known, no matter how long he plays with Bronco. Fannie filled in the gap left by Mike, who quit the band in the summer of '09. Although a real Metalhead, Fannie has roots well-based in instrumental surf, and it's a lethal combination! Fannie's enthousiasm is legendary, and already earned him the name "Mr. Dedication". A well known character in Sin-City and a very nice guy (we mean a reaaaaallly nice guy, ladies!) who gives 200% of what he's got - and he's got alot!

Da Master plays bass like a madman. He is a heavy metal fan and this shows in his growling bass-playing. He plays a custom iron-neck bassguitar which weighs a ton. His home-made amplifier is fuckin' loud, and tends to go up in flames once in a while too! Always cool, always sharp-dressed, and an entertainer from birth.

Although Mojo is the quiet one of the band, once he gets behind his drums all hell breaks loose. People who have witnessed his out-of-this-world style, raise their eyebrows in awe. He is used to playing with the band while being un-amplified, so he has developped a heavy high-energy style to be able to cope with his loud guitar-slingin' Bronco-brethren. Jay always reffers to him as "The 500 Horsepower heart of Bronco", and if you see them live, you know what this means.
